How the conversion works

Digital storage uses binary (IEC) units throughout: 1 KB = 1,024 bytes, 1 MB = 1,024 KB = 1,048,576 bytes, 1 GB = 1,024 MB. Decimal-based variants (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) are not used here.
